Elsa Bianchi Malbec 2019
A young and lively wine offering a very intense color with a purple hint. Ripe red fruit aromas prevail, with a touch of violets characteristic of Malbec of this region. A sweet wine in the mouth with round tannins, medium structure, and some mineral notes. Elegant, well-balanced, and food-friendly.
The grapes for this single-vineyard wine come from Valentin Bianchi's Doa Elsa Estate, situated in Rama Caida, San Rafael, Mendoza, around 760 meters above sea level. One of the coolest areas in San Rafael, the soil in Rama Caida is of sandy calcareous composition and alluvial origins. Hand-picked and twice sorted by hand, the grapes are crushed, fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks and inoculated with selected yeasts. Very gentle, periodic pumping over is conducted, with seven days total maceration and natural stabilization. There is minimal French oak aging in an effort to keep fruit fresh, lively and prominent, with a further one month's aging in the bottle.
Elsa Malbec is the perfect accompaniment to a wide range of foods, such as salmon or other flavorful fish, pork and beef.
