Famiglia Bianchi Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
90 Points - Wine Advocate
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon that is red-purple in color. It has a, complex nose that is reminiscent of berries, spice, cedar, chocolate. The nose carries through to the palate, delivering a rich, luscious texture with berry and cedar flavors. It is a well balanced wine with a long, pleasing finish.
The grapes come primarily from the Asti and Doña Elsa Estate, situated in Rama Caída, San Rafael, Mendoza, around 2500 ft. (760 meters) above sea level. It is an ideal climate for the Cabernet Sauvignon grape because of the warm days and cool nights that are typical of the area. The soil is of sandy calcareous composition and alluvial origins. It was aged ten months in 90 percent French, 10 percent American barrels – 33 percent new, 33 percent one-year-old and 33 percent two-years-old. After stabilization, filtering the final wine aged in the bottle an additional ten months prior to release.
