Domaines & Châteaux
Domaines & Châteaux
We are proud to represent Georges Duboeuf, a name that has become synonymous with French winemaking excellence. While many know Duboeuf for the festive and vibrant Beaujolais Nouveau, his legacy encompasses so much more.
The Domaines & Chateaux collection represents single-estate and even single-vineyard wines that are produced by independent vignerons. These wines come from some of the very best family-owned estates and producers located throughout the Beaujolais region. Each wine is the ultimate expression of the unique terroir and character of each estate and its vineyards.
Jean Ernest Descombes was a beloved figure in Beaujolais, known for his jolly nature and enthusiasm for promoting Morgon wines. He established one of the finest estates in the region, with vineyards over 50 years old planted in top terroirs.
His wines garnered numerous awards, and his welcoming cellars attracted many wine experts. After his passing in 1993, his daughter Nicole continued his legacy, bringing the same passion and dynamism to the estate. She believes that wine reflects its creator, just as her father's Morgon embodies his spirit.
The estate, located in Guillons, spans 6.60 hectares, with vineyards farmed by metayeur André Berrod, who also makes the wine.
Pierre Siraudin, the owner, has worked at the domaine since 1951, and the family has owned the property since the French Revolution.
Château de Saint Amour's relationship with Georges Duboeuf goes back 40 years, with about half of their total production Vinification is done on-site, with about half of the production going to Duboeuf.
The Lenoir family has been making wine, father and son, for more than five generations. The Domain is located in Saint Maurice de Satonnay (just north of Mâcon), and is well-known for the high quality of its Mâcon-Villages expression.
Part of the typically Mâcon-style home was built at least 300 years ago.
With an average vine-age of 40 years on soils of clay and limestone, this Domaine consistently produces Chardonnay of exceptional expression.
Château de Nervers, located in Odenas, France, has been a family-run wine estate since the 19th century. Originally a hunting lodge built in 1780, it became a château in 1830. The estate spans 55 hectares, primarily planted with Gamay grapes, and is located at the foot of Mont Brouilly.
The vineyards are farmed sustainably with Terra Vitis certification and organic practices. The estate also hosts the annual "Le Serment du Vigneron" event, celebrating Beaujolais traditions.
This 19th Century château is at the heart of the Juliénas Appellation in the hamlet of ‘Les Capitans’.
The ancient cedars in the hectare of grounds bear witness to a great historic past.
In popular tradition, the hamlet is said to preserve traces of a Roman past. It was considered to be a strategic point and is thought to have been a headquarters, hence the name ‘Capitan’, which refers to its function as an officer’s quarters.
Domaine de la Vigne Romaine, located in the commune of Romanèche-Thorins (Romanesca), France, is situated on one of the region's earliest Roman farms. The estate's vineyards are among the oldest in the area, benefiting from the nearby River Saône, which facilitated transportation to Lyon.
The vineyards, averaging 40 years in age, are planted on terroirs such as "Les Brenays," "en Reclaine," "Les Petits Bois," "la Delatte," and "Les Petits Morier." The Gimaray family has managed the estate for generations.
Domaine de la Javernière, located in the Morgon appellation of Beaujolais, has a rich history that spans five generations of winemaking. The estate’s origins date back to the early 19th century.
In 1985, Hervé Lacoque took over the estate and today, it continues to be a family-run operation, with the Lacoque family remaining dedicated to producing wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Morgon appellation.
Domaine Béranger, located in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation of Burgundy, France, is a family-owned estate with a winemaking history spanning over 200 years. The Béranger family has resided in Pouilly, a hamlet of Solutré, for more than two centuries.
The estate is currently managed by Emile Béranger and his son Robert, who oversee 12 acres of vineyards planted predominantly with Chardonnay grapes. Emile, born in the family home, has been tending the land for over 50 years.
Part of what makes Georges Duboeuf’s Domaines & Châteaux collection so special is that many of these wines bear the prestigious names of the Crus of Beaujolais.
These 10 distinct appellations represent the region’s top-tier terroirs, each with unique characteristics that reflect centuries of winemaking tradition. Wines from these Crus are known for their exceptional quality and depth, showcasing the very best of Beaujolais craftsmanship and flavor.
