Domaines & Châteaux
Domaines & Châteaux
The Domaines & Châteaux collection features single-estate and single-vineyard wines crafted by independent vignerons in Beaujolais. Sourced from top family-owned estates, these wines showcase the region’s rich terroir and winemaking heritage. Available exclusively in the U.S. through Georges Duboeuf, each bottle reflects generations of expertise and a deep connection to the land.
Nicole Descombes Savoye, known as the “Queen of Beaujolais,” took over her family’s winery and vineyards in 1993, continuing the legacy of her father, Jean Ernst, a renowned regional winemaker. She was the first grower Georges Duboeuf partnered with when he founded Les Vins Georges Duboeuf in 1968, marking the start of a historic collaboration.
The estate’s exceptional vineyards include top terroirs like Le Py, La Roche Pillée, Les Pillets, and Bellevue, with three-quarters of the vines over 50 years old. These prized old vines produce outstanding wines that have earned Descombes numerous awards.
Owned by the Siraudin family since the French Revolution, Pierre Siraudin has managed Château de Saint-Amour since 1951. For over 40 years, the estate has partnered with Georges Duboeuf, sharing its exceptional Saint-Amour terroir with the world.
Sourced from select vineyards, the estate’s Gamay wines thrive in unique soil and climate conditions, delivering remarkable complexity and depth—a true expression of
Saint-Amour’s rich winemaking heritage.
The Lenoir family has been making wine, father and son, for more than five generations. The domaine is located in Saint Maurice de Satonnay and is well-known for the highest quality of its Macon-villages expression.
The Chateau, owned by the de Chabanne family, was the hunting lodge for the nearby Chateau de la Chaize, whose estates in the 17th Century extended to the Saone River
(approximately 6.2 miles). The estate spans 55 hectares and is located at the foot of Mount Brouilly. The vineyards are farmed sustainably with Terra Vitis certification and organic practices.
Nestled in the heart of the Juliénas Appellation, Château des Capitans is a 19th-century estate steeped in history, with ancient cedars standing as timeless witnesses to its legacy.
The estate’s vineyards, planted in a single block, thrive on exceptional terroir. With a south-southeast exposure, the vines receive optimal sunlight, ensuring perfect grape maturity and the production of outstanding Juliénas wines.
Located in Romanèche-Thorins, once home to one of the region’s first Roman farms, Domaine Gimaray carries a rich heritage. The vineyards, among the oldest in the region, thrive on premier terroirs like Les Brenays, En Reclaine, Les Petits Bois, La Delatte, and Les Petits Morier. Family-run for generations, the estate’s 40-year-old vines, facing south-southeast, are hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality wines.
The 24.7-acre vineyard, owned by the Lacoque family, features south-facing vines over 50 years old. Located in the prestigious Morgon appellation, it includes top sub-appellations: Micouds, Charmes, Corcelette, and Côte du Py.
For over 200 years, the Béranger family has cultivated vineyards in Pouilly, once known as the Béranger District. Today, Emile Béranger and his son Robert, along with their spouses, meticulously tend the 12.35-acre estate. Emile, born on the property, has cared for the vines for over 50 years, continuing a deep-rooted family legacy.
Part of what makes Georges Duboeuf’s Domaines & Châteaux collection so special is that many of these wines bear the prestigious names of the Crus of Beaujolais.
These 10 distinct appellations represent the region’s top-tier terroirs, each with unique characteristics that reflect centuries of winemaking tradition. Wines from these Crus are known for their exceptional quality and depth, showcasing the very best of Beaujolais craftsmanship and flavor.
