Flower Labels Collection

We are proud to represent Georges Duboeuf, a name that has become synonymous with French winemaking excellence. While many know Duboeuf for the festive and vibrant Beaujolais Nouveau, his legacy encompasses so much more.

The emblematic Flower Labels Collection offers a perfect introduction to the House's signature style. Each wine is a journey through the distinct characteristics of the site from which they originate. This collection serves as an invitation to explore the nuanced expressions of Beaujolais, showcasing the elegance, depth, and diversity of the wines that define these renowned terroirs.

The 10 Crus of Beaujolais

Part of what makes Georges Duboeuf’s Flowers collection so special is that many of these wines bear the prestigious names of the Crus of Beaujolais.

These 10 distinct appellations represent the region’s top-tier terroirs, each with unique characteristics that reflect centuries of winemaking tradition. Wines from these Crus are known for their exceptional quality and depth, showcasing the very best of Beaujolais craftsmanship and flavor.

Morgon

Known for its robust and powerful wines, Morgon is one of Beaujolais' most esteemed crus. It produces deeply structured wines with flavors of ripe cherry, plum, and earthy spice, often with a touch of floral and mineral complexity. The wines of Morgon have great aging potential, softening over time to reveal layers of richness and depth. Morgon is often described as having a ‘Gamay on steroids’ quality, offering intensity without sacrificing elegance.

Fleurie

Often referred to as the 'Queen' of Beaujolais, Fleurie produces wines with delicate and elegant profiles. Characterized by floral notes, particularly violets, along with red fruit flavors like raspberry and strawberry, Fleurie wines are fragrant and vibrant. The silky tannins and fresh acidity make them approachable, yet they also have the depth to age gracefully. Fleurie is a perfect example of Beaujolais' ability to combine beauty with complexity.

Chiroubles

The highest vineyard elevations in Beaujolais define Chiroubles, which produces wines with striking freshness and bright acidity. Known for its delicate character, Chiroubles showcases aromatic notes of raspberry, strawberry, and cherry, often accompanied by floral undertones like peony. The wines are light-bodied, yet have an appealing minerality and a youthful exuberance that make them a favorite for early drinking. Their refreshing nature pairs wonderfully with a variety of lighter dishes.

Moulin-à-Vent

One of the most serious and age-worthy crus, Moulin-à-Vent is known for producing structured, powerful wines. The flavors are often dark and intense, with rich notes of blackberries, cherries, and plum, alongside hints of spice, leather, and earth. The tannins are firm, giving the wines longevity, and they often develop complex, savory qualities with age. Moulin-à-Vent's depth and complexity make it a standout among the Beaujolais Crus.

Régnié

Régnié, the youngest of the Beaujolais Crus, produces wines with a lively and fresh character. The wines often display vibrant red fruit flavors like raspberry, strawberry, and cranberry, with a subtle earthiness and floral notes. The texture is light and refreshing, with a clean finish. While approachable and easy-drinking in its youth, Régnié also offers subtle complexity that can develop with a bit of bottle age. It’s an excellent wine for casual and elegant pairings alike.

Saint-Amour

Known for its romantic connection to Valentine's Day, Saint-Amour produces wines that are both fragrant and charming. Aromas of red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries are complemented by floral and herbal nuances. The wines are typically softer and lighter in body, offering an easy-drinking profile with smooth tannins. Saint-Amour can be enjoyed young but also has the potential to evolve with age, revealing deeper complexity and earthy notes.

Brouilly

As the largest Beaujolais Cru, Brouilly offers wines with a broad spectrum of styles. Typically, the wines are fresh and fruit-forward, with flavors of ripe red berries and cherries. There’s also a mineral streak running through Brouilly wines, lending them structure and complexity. Though approachable and smooth in youth, Brouilly also possesses the depth to develop more intricate flavors of spice and earth over time. Its versatile nature makes it ideal for a variety of food pairings.

Côte de Brouilly

The wines from Côte de Brouilly are recognized for their rich, full-bodied style, thanks to the steep, volcanic soils from which the grapes are grown. Expect deep, dark fruit flavors of black currant, blackberry, and plum, often layered with subtle spice, herbs, and a touch of earthiness. The wines are powerful yet balanced, with firm tannins and a long finish. Côte de Brouilly’s intensity makes it one of the most distinctive and age-worthy crus.

Julienas

Julienas is one of the most aromatic crus of Beaujolais, producing wines with vibrant fruit flavors of raspberry, cherry, and blackberry, often accompanied by hints of rose and violet. The wines are well-structured, with firm tannins and a balanced acidity that make them approachable yet capable of aging. Julienas offers a blend of youthful freshness and a touch of earthy complexity, making it a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of foods.

Chénas

One of the smaller and more elusive Beaujolais crus, Chénas produces wines with a unique combination of fruit and structure. The wines often showcase flavors of red berries, particularly cherry and raspberry, with subtle floral notes like rose petal and violet. What sets Chénas apart is its deeper, more tannic structure compared to other Beaujolais wines, giving it a more serious character. With aging, Chénas develops earthy and spicy complexity, making it a favorite among collectors who appreciate its refined balance and potential for development.
