Pascual Toso Ultra Premium Wines
Magdalena Toso: Magdalena Toso, a tribute to the winery founder's mother, crowns each harvest with excellence. This ultra-Premium Malbec-Cabernet Sauvignon blend signifies meticulous grape selection from Barrancas' premier vineyards. Radiating elegance and finesse in its intense red hue, Magdalena Toso embodies a profound complexity that faithfully mirrors its noble lineage. This wine stands as a poignant homage to the winery's origins, embracing the enduring legacy it embodies.
Finca Pedregal: A special blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Malbec, representing the ultimate expression of two unique vineyards planted by the Toso family in 1950. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months (Cabernet Sauvignon in American oak and Malbec in French), it is an intense, elegant, smooth, refined wine with a very pleasant lingering memory on the palate. Its complexity, firm yet sweet tannins contribute to its distinctive character.
Alta Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec & Syrah: The flagship of Pascual Toso's premium red wines from specific plots on their oldest vineyard, eloquently expressing the grandeur of the Barrancas terroir. The red wine portfolio showcases a diverse range, featuring Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah. As part of the Alta label, Pascual Toso also crafts a Chardonnay.
The Varied Tapestry of Las Barrancas Terroir
Nestled in Mendoza's Maipú district, Las Barrancas, a 220-hectare domain of Pascual Toso, boasts a heterogeneous terroir. The irregular terrain, descending 7 meters, unveils an array of soils, from bare rock to those adorned with green cover.
Situated 750 meters above sea level, this region offers prime conditions for climatic agriculture, with warm days, cool nights, and low humidity. The snows of the Andes supply irrigation via the Rio Mendoza.
Las Barrancas, a canvas of diverse textures and altitudes, unfolds a terroir tale in every bottle, capturing the essence of Mendoza's winemaking magic.
